URAN URAN (original theatre picture soundtrack) by Wojciech Kucharczyk

Wojtek Kucharczyk is a hyperactive human standing behind Mik.Musik.!. label.
Derived from the post-techno and glitch experiments blended with polyrhythmical drumming he worked out his formula of composition presented together with his sister and other collaborators through Mołr Drammaz.
As a solo artist he is open to interesting forms also used in various contexts.
Uran Uran is a cd which comprises Wojtek's electronic experiments with live string section in a form of a live soundtrack for a theatre piece which was presented on the last Tauron Nowa Muzyka festival.
The string section consists of Kasia Kulmińska, Paulina Jaksim who are working with Polish Dance Theatre in Poznań, Piotr Steczek who works with Aukso, Zuza Makles, Malwina Tkaczyk and Zuzanna Janczak.
Directed by Marcin Liber with interesting dance choreography and costumes it's a piece that definitely feels much more wholesome while being watched live.
However there are certain elements to it which make it good to listen outside the context of a show.
There is great deal of melody and easy listening feel to it, quite melancholic sometimes on the string section side. Wojtek does its best to fit in the whole set of his glitchy rhythmical jigsaw together with the rest of the arrangements. Sometimes it sounds a little bit like conventional techno with this special edge of a music box dynamics or quite funky leads. At ther times the strings take the lead of the narrative leaving the electronics in the background.
Altogether it's a nice document and with the videos of the live show it has definitely a great potential.
