HENRIK MUNKEBY NØRSTEBØ / DANIEL LERCHER / JULIE ROKSETH Off the Coast LP/CD/DL SOFA 570

Meeting of friends and keen, curious minds.
Henrik and Daniel met in the Czech countryside while being part of larger project of musicians from different countries improvising together.
They work together, hand in hand with Daniel moving Henrik's acoustic sounds into the domain of electronic and electroacoustic level. It's a tight match and works beautifully.
On their second album where they invitied Julie Rokseth, a renowned harpist - they travelled to Sula, an isolated island with a fishing community and plenty of space and opportunities to field record and use the ambience to their advantage.
A very intuitive and attentive mood of those compositions has an added value of the local hue. There is a surprise guest - a local storyteller - Aksel Johansen who added great colorite to the "Sula song" where they used his voice.
Pulsating universe of interaction between the subtleties of three musical outlets interacting with the environment - what else do you need?
