Strange Hops by Acclimate
Artemis Kowalski who is the man behind the New Zealand project Acclimate now based in Christchurch has been always delivering quality stuff. He has released a short ep now ‘’Strange Hops’’ which is a sort of a collection of the tracks that have appeared elsewhere. Acclimate case has always been something eluding the genres but at the same time owning them. He knows how to blend different aesthetics without a single missed note. Distorted trippy dub hip hop downtempo or a bit more deconstructed drum rolls which you might associate with more up-tempo beats with a hints of post-industrial noise ( try the first track where the hailstorm cloud of harshnoise wallish atmospherics). Within a span of not even twenty minutes you can hear how wide the span of different angles we are dealing with here.
