Things Thinging by Standard Grey
Another gem from Molt Fluid. This time Standard Grey presents a series of collages, field recordings, tape manipulations and assemblage of all sorts of experimental sounds.
Like with any other releases of Molt Fluid it comes out as a cassette with a cover printed in old school technology - that will make the picture eventually fade.
This little aspect makes me think of how elusive and intimate Standard Grey music is - obviously you can use certain labels and even cliches to describe it but what is most important in the attentive listening experience here is something different. Immersing yourself in this little album and go through it as you would go through a session of actually accompanying in the recording. Those squelchy drones and background hisses, lo fi aesthetics helps only to understand the nature and the core of this sound - demure yet full of surprises and borderline vibrations of the places, moods, feelings.
