Cipher was compared to solo works of Sam Shalabi (from Shalabi Effect). It is complex music created on levels of guitars, spoken word and range of the wind instruments used in any possible way. Outburst of creativity with careful editing. HEIKE FIEDLER: vocals and lyrics, traverse flute, melodia;
STEVE BUCHANAN: 2nd line, electronics, el. guitar, alto sax;
KRUNO JOST: laptop, classical guitar, el. guitar, melodia.

I still remind myself the energy blast concert of Steve Buchanan at the tiny and atmospheric festival in a small town of Inowłódz, Poland in 1998, what a night it was!!!
Here all ends meet up together and I am still listening to Steve and his companions on this Gentlejunk netlabel release.
A nicely put collective improvisation keeping both sonorous and a lil' bit melodic stance with a nice scenario to it.
Heike Fiedler makes it more narrative piece by spoken word synchwith the rest of the band. What seems most particularly well-assembled here is the experience of the musicians which goes way beyond anything.
Really enjoyable piece, need some more of that drug.
