Guilty Paradise by Tim Olive & Michał Fundowicz

Michał Fundowicz, based in Scotland and running Molt Fluid records is joining forces with Tim Olive, based in Kobe, Japan to make this modestly released low run of cassettes.
Two tracks that are roughly over 14 minutes of each are set of nuanced, abrasive compositions with lo-fi spirit but definitely of the fidelity that makes you ponder not only how much you can achieve as a composer, improviser and musician using so little means.
Two gentleman know their craft and know perfectly how to blend and how to make sure that they are working towards the same goal: clean cut, engaging compositions.
When you think of a label - it's not entirely certain - tape music would be one of the idioms but only because Michał used variety of tape players. Tim on the other hand uses magnetic pickups, oscillator and tuning forks. But the effect is far from obvious. Is it electroacoustic music. In a way yes, but I would say far more engaging and not pretentious at all when you think about how many of the contemporary representatives of this label can be ridiculously academic and engaged in sound art which is often smoke and mirrors.
Instead of all this - we are getting something really interesting and unobvious - a meditation on micro-sound. But not using the tools and means that you would instantly expect from the musicians. In its own space, in its own way, in its own sound file...
