Jeff Stonehouse's Listening Mirror "The Heart of The Sky"
Jeff Stonehouse has an interesting approachto making so-called "ambient". Instead of going shortcuts and bricollaging low-pitched sounds with a bit of field recorded stuff he embellishes the guitar driven work into masterpiece of its own kind. It's haunting somewhat but in a different way than just copying the likes of proggy rocked infusion of epigonic Robert Fripp sounds.
These are songs and compositions with specific approach to orchestrating sounds into grime texture and yet there are no loops, no typically echoed dissonance or fluctuations delayed over the real time.
I had the utter pleasure in listening to it.
There is a sheer sense of harmony and melancholy in it without putting a note on pompous shift. Thank you Jeff...
