GHÈDALIA TAZARTÈS / PAWEŁ ROMAŃCZUK / ANDRZEJ ZAŁĘSKI: CARP’S HEAD by Monotype records

The mighty Monotype records straight outta Poland strikes again with this fancy vinyl record plus an added cd with an extra track that is not listed on the vinyl.
Legendary Ghedalia Tazartes with two Polish musicians - Paweł Romańczuk from Małę Instrumenty and Andrzej Załeski, who has been active since the end of 1980's has met in Obuh's Wojcek Czern's Rogalów Analogowy studio to record an acoustic session full of passion and emotional overdrive.
Half -improvised or maybe drawn from an improv session compositions with variety of acoustioc instruments, with solid base of Andrzej's drums and ever-expanding universe of Ghedalia's voice.
He, somehow, is a main protagonist of this ensemble with dramatic, overloaded shriek, burst-out that doesn't seem to stop for a second, delivering stories that only you can recognise in an imaginative way transposing real and unreal on the verge of something unexpected.
There is an interesting feel to this music who was made by experienced set of musicians - you cannot easily classify it as an "experimental ethno" nor anything really. Makes me feel like these guys start from scratch and happen to evolve into something less predictable than most of "experimental" genre does. Way to go!
