Another Day on Tarutao by Mirt

Another gem from Mirt's label Saamleng released recently...
In 2018 Tomek went to Tarutao island, the largest island of Tarutao National Marine Park in Satun Province of southern Thailand. Away from tourist-ridden places, Tarutao is a beautiful tropical sanctuary.
Right from the start you can instantly feel cocooned by the sound - a balmy droning of insects, and the environmental sounds - the swirl and surf of distant water source, subtle twigs being broken introduce a bird song.
An interesting name of the island which means "old", "primitive" in Malay made me think how much our modern world has shaped and eroded the natural environment making "natural" things which are absolutely spoilt.
The subtleness of this material hit me hard thinking how dystopian you can feel amidst still pristine environment that itself puts you in an interesting state of mind. You feel both engulfed and surrounded, otherworldly overwhelmed but foremostly feeling but a part of something larger than yourself.
