Well, Public Eyesore run by Bryan Day has an answer for you. Saudara Tua is an Indonesian duo that blends ethnic rhythms and improvised music at its best.
It is an interesting release where drums keep the whole process and compositions in sync with often quite aggressive dissonance of other instruments. The whole album sound like a musical event - caught first and red handed. Interesting but definitely beyond being mere a one off curiosity, especially when you move on to track three where haunting vocals and gamelan background brings back the spirits of the past. You can't deny a special kind of beauty that walks behind those lines.
