faint ridges,broken promises by fallen

 

New album by Lorenzo Bracaloni who has been working under moniker Fallen has been released this month by an Italian label Neotantra as a DL and cd and comes out as a great surprise.

Lorenzo has been pretty active ever since he started working with music releasing quite a lot of materials as downloads and as cds. In many ways you might know what to expect from him but unlike many artists on this shelf of classical, cinematic ambient with many other elements he never ceases to surprise in a positive way.

What he is doing is embellishing and perfecting the form that he has worked out so hard over the years. And now – time has come to create a form of his own which is a compromise between many elements. 

To call this set of tracks ‘’ambient’’ would be a gross understatement as Lorenzo has tried hard to expand and extend his palette by so many different elements.

The first thing you may notice is that it has evolved a lot in terms of changing moods and climes.

First track and there are two tracks each around 25 minutes starts with a passage that you would normally associate with click techno or glitch that you could hear on Clicks & Cuts by Millie Plateaux. As it moves on from there, we can hear illustrative cinematic passages, post techno dynamics with trip hop, blends of jazz and the likes. 

Second track won’t leave you indifferent too – it is full of nuance and temperamental set of staging the atmosphere which Lorenzo has mastered beautifully. Along with blending different aspects that only seemingly don’t fit together.

Last but not least – there is so much harmonics and the actual harmony involved which only helps moody, melancholic states that you can use to get through some personal experiences. It is only fair to say that this album has so much of potent medicinal properties.
