Olo Walicki & Jacek Prościński - Llovage
A rare chance for a listener to travel through many musical worlds without having to listen to a big combo of musicians.
And what a chance it is!
Olgierd and Jacek are both proficient in their craft and I don't mean only technical skills but foremostly their abilities to create chances for any musicians they work with to put something that can show their true colours.
Now they are both on their own in a duo that traverses the genres and defies the slogans and platitudes of a "duo" music.
Bass and drums made a two of a perfect pair if you know how to go about it.
Modern composition with the drive of fusion jazz and ethnic music belnd in nicely as a soundtrack for anything that is about a joy of experimentation.
Those two know how to handle the consistency of a track without ruining it and spoiling the track in terms of easy access by a listener. There is always a melody to it although some of the tracks are right on the side of polyrhythmic wizardry.
An excellent album to ponder on how the improvised music is doing.
