AR (Untitled) by ARTUR RUMIŃSKI

It's quite difficult not to notice the input that Artur Rumiński has as a musician into the artistic matter of both experimental and metal scene and beyond in Poland. Active in projects such as Thaw(which funnily enough people ask me about since I used that alias myself), AARM, Furia, Gruzja, Mentor but also under his own name.
Th epresent release from Zoharum gives you an idea how versatile he can be. With ever expanding universe of sounds which may sound quite minimalistic but still very elaborate, he sets up on a course to create a solo guitar album which can be quite easily put in the clichee of an ambient music - easily digestible and listener-friendly. The passages of reverbrated guitar textures might prove you wrong though since Artur is crafting those into a calleidoscope and an amalgam that is his own in a genuine sense. It's how he fits those different elements together and breaks them into parts and puts them back again into tracks that have been selected for this release. You can easily hear his attentiveness and his willingness to experiment. This phantasm of sound has a very dry, realistic undertone to it. There you have a trip into the core sound - the very essence of what is a reverb and a delay itself. How space works with you and your tools. The last track is a good expression of that - a field recording which is somewhat a hint, a tongue-in-the cheek towards the listener.
