Radioactive Desire by Bob Bellerue

Bob Bellerue has its own file in music - it's an organised and orchestrated composition derived from improvisation, minimal drone noise music, modern contemporary music and derivatives of anything experimental that started in 90's American underground. It is quite a wide spectrum if you consider it and almost impossible to embrace intellectually if you don't want to fall into a trap of la di dah academism.

On his newest album he invited excellent guests to collaborate:

as follows with subsequent tracks

"The Longest Year"

Brandon Lopez: double bass

Luke Stewart: double bass

Jessica Pavone: viola

Gabby Fluke-Mogul: violin

Ed Bear: baritone sax

Bob Bellerue: electronics

"Bass Feedback"

"Radioactive Desire"

Bob Bellerue: suling gambuh, electronics

Jessica Pavone: viola

Gabby Fluke-Mogul: violin

Ed Bear: baritone sax

"Metal Gambuh"

Bob Bellerue: junk metal & cymbals, feedback piano, howling, overdriven room sound, and amplified suling gambuh

The weight of this music is just impossible - the game that is being played not only in the audience and players ears but also in auditory system of the space that it was recorded in. Played in the normal sequence I thought I will it give it a go and changed the plan and play the tracks in different order which also adds up to how the tracks can exist as individual entities. It's a symphony of drone and shriek - a more humane voice in the world of over-produced drone buzz of radio playlists.

Highly recommended!
