Om Shanti Om (2022) by Schröttersburg

I must say that when I listened to the previous materials from Schröttersburg, I wasn't really into it. I was really impressed and respected the path they took which was clearly derived from post-punk, new wave traits. But I just couldn't get myself into it and although trying hard didn't go back to listening those albums. It was a solid craft though.
They came back this year with a new album which is clearly a huge change and a very interesting one. Imagine a motoric krautrock beat but with more outward maestry and dynamics taken into the world of minimal music, trippy psychodelia but also taking a huge step into post-industrial noise rock.
What I love about those guys is the fact that they are very musically eloquent, whatever they are doing you know you are dealing with people who have been educating themselves in what they are doing musically but also as listeners and musicians prone to experimenting. They have gone quite far forward here extending their instrumentals to ethnic instruments, metal junk for percussive textures.
They also know how to create a scenario that will keep you at the tip of your seat. There is a degree of dramatism present here that is just excellent - it feels like a soundtrack not being one at the same time.
They present great skills in that respect knowing their craft and following it. Excellent album for some new period in their musical life.
