Dante Trilogy: TREMOR . SPORE . LEGACY by VIDNA OBMANA

 

Dirk Serries has been active as Vidna Obmana for over 20 years so any kind of summary of his body of work is in place. Luckily Zoharum, who is invaluable in terms of re-editing and releasing stuff that helps to understand the importance and value of some of the gems that belong to underground and experimental music is releasing this 3 cd album.

Tremor, Spore and Legacy are three of the parts of this album. Each having its own character but quite easily recognizable in terms of Dirk's unique style where he blends the ambient with blisfull themes that are rooted in ethnic and illustrative music as well as subtle beats. It all leads to the question - how much of this impossible heritage is lost by being overpowered by ever-expanding muzak. 

Such great music should be more popular and found somewhere else - not only in the niches.

But hey, this is how it really works with it - it cannot be defied by anything negative really. There is so much depth and subtlety to it. It can be used both as an accompanying ambience or as a main soundtrack for anything you fancy. Dig it!
