Postcards from Nowhere by Fallen

Fallen has long been on my radar as Lorenzo Bracaloni who stands behind this project has always been a trademark of high end quality, great compositional skill and proverbial prowess when it comes to finding new and new challenges and outlets for artistic expression.

His new album is being released by Format Records as a CD and DL.

10 new tracks which oscillate between modern classical, soundtrack, ambient, post rock and post-techno. But as always it’s just an understatement of what is actually happening on the album.

Lorenzo has a natural gift to combine different stylistically diverse and compositionally interesting tricks, modulations, frameworks that make sense when you listen to his albums as a whole. Yes, you read that correctly. Not a very popular act these days when you listen things just track by track set up against a playlist.

But, as a conscious artist- he is able to elevate all his compositional skill towards creating a whole, closed piece that works excellent together just because it is together as a whole. Which doesn’t obviously mean that you cannot listen to the tracks separately.

There is some sort of shift in the moods of the tracks which happen to be both quite elaborate and cool-sounding. But the compositional skill you can observe here is the one of some sort of compromise – it is forward to a wider audience but the experimental aspect of the whole album is still present there.

Dive into a sonic soundscape of elaborate harmonies, and unique expositions – you will never regret it. For me, as a listener – it’s one of those albums you would like to come back to. And it means a lot…

Fallen, who participated in "SLIT ART 1", FORM@ RECORDS' first ambient compilation released in 2025, has provided a full album. A total of 10 tracks, including the track featured on the compilation. It is a wonderful album with ambient as its foundation, interwoven with IDM and experimental sounds.

Do we believe possible in getting advices from a lost past of ours for our current life? We are also who and what we haven't had the chance to be, even if this wasn't our choice. This album is about lost past whisperings and roads not taken.

----- Fallen

With this new album, Fallen evolves towards a colder and more enveloping sound, embellished with electronic and ambient influences that expertly blend with their immersive atmospheres, creating a fluid and at times breathtaking sonic experience, as in Whisperings from a Different Past. The track is built through layers of drones and synth lines, accompanied by piano melodies, while electronic pulsations intensify the texture, making the listening dense, engaging and full of emotional nuances.

In the title track, Fallen skillfully unites his two souls –the electronic and the acoustic–, skillfully playing on contrasts and tones, creating a harmonious balance that makes the entire composition a cohesive and enveloping whole. Each element fits together perfectly, complementing each other, giving shape to a plot rich in nuance and controlled tension.

Among the album's most memorable moments is undoubtedly Unveiled (Lost Messages), a track that intertwines light electronic rhythms, melodic guitar patterns and refined harmonic reinforcements, creating an enveloping atmosphere.

In this composition, Fallen focuses on the finest details and textures, infused with electronics, which are decidedly more organic than previous tracks, lending the entire production a sense of maturity and sonic depth. With each new work, Lorenzo Bracaloni, like a careful and passionate craftsman, hones his skills, getting ever closer to perfection. Postcards from Nowhere represents a further step forward in this evolution, an album that draws respectfully and sensitively from the past, without losing sight of the future. It is a project that invites us to rediscover our memories and shape a more complete and authentic version of ourselves. With this work, Fallen offers us a sonic journey between introspection and rebirth, offering the best interpretation of his style and artistic vision, and presenting itself as the result of a journey of growth and continuous research.
