Reflections Vol. 3: Water Poems by Félicia Atkinson & Christina Vantzo

 

New album Félicia Atkinson and  Christina Vantzou is about to be released in the coming month of April. 

 A perfect and harmonious blend of electro-acoustic compositions with an ambience elevated in the sphere of a singer-songwriter modal. The voice and piano used for poetic distribution of softness and elusiveness with the added value of synthesizers and electronic processing .

It’s an album on love, friendship, nuances and fleeting emotions and feelings set against the intimacy of maritime connection between a human being and her/his subconscious space. A mystery of self-discovery that is encapsulated and embodied by the elaborate and yet effortless movements of the tracks.

It is a rare occurrence of how everything can be entwined and connected on so many different levels, creating complex, yet not overcomplicated patterns and frameworks. It is tempting the listener with lots of sonic promises and never fails to let you down – this is how much you can discover through coming back to this album again and again. 

A rare chance of meeting sonic poetry and matured compositional skills that melt together with unique, perennial beauty and some solid musical framework. A rare gem.

On Reflections Vol. 3: Water Poems, Félicia Atkinson and Christina Vantzou channel their friendship and atmospheric artistry into ceremonial focus. Spoken-word environments and orchestral imagination flow like tributaries into a unified stream, resulting in a collection of dreamlike songs and soundscapes anchored in sea, sky and stone. Through electro-acoustic instrumentation, voice, and environmental sound, Water Poems invites listeners into a subconscious space somewhere between everyday intimacy and the oceanic enigma from which all life unfolds.
