Perles, coraux & requins by Julien Gasc

Julien Gasc’s newest album ‘’ Perles, coraux & requins ‘’ is a pearl among the pearls.
10 compositions in a shape of art pop with quite progressive aura and unpretentious sweet melodies tell us a narrative that every day wonders and discoveries can turn themselves into proper songs.
Listening closely you can feel the aroma of psychodelic rock here – early Barretesque Pink Floyd feel, that dreamy and balmy atmosphere that has a kaleidoscopic quality. But we shouldn’t forget also about the traditions of French chansons that is present here.
Easily one of the best albums of this spring and this year – concise, tastefully composed and produced but foremostly beautifully led by Julien himself.

This album was recorded by Anton Newcombe in his Berlin studio over three sessions between June 2023 and July 2024
