Greed by Mirt

Tomek Mirt is tirelessly coming back with new albums. On one hand he is developing his idea of field recording in more or less exquisite and exotic surroundings. On the other side of the coin - he is developing his own sound and alchemises his style through the style of modular synthesis.
The new album is of the latter.
Nine of those carefully processed and composed tracks are a clear testament and evidence of an artist who clearly has gone through so many phases in his own lab over the years that you can feel the bits, drops, outtakes, moods and mods of those years but not as a burden, more of a liberating happenstance where you get rid of those unnecessary elements to crystalise your formula to the point where it is undeniably clear that this work is a larger than life, force of nature, an element that cannot be mistaken for anything else.
The minimalistic, post-techno, post new wave, modulation of his inner voice is the soundtrack beyond the grey area of the mainstream flow of overhyped cultural noise. It's the meditation of free will and the endless possibilities which are moved towards the essence of lyricism, devoured from the verse of an attentive mind, open to use different idioms and flexible enough beyond his own limitations. It is unpretentious soundtrack of someone unassuming who puts down to earth, reflective ideas of self-developed philosophy into the line of the musical theme. I seriously wanted it to flow endlessly.
