Subpolar Hilarity by Bartek Kalinka

Bartek Kalinka a.k.a. XV Parówek is efortlessly the key figure in the wave of hometaping scene in Polish and international underground.
Numerous releases on all possible media, his own label, countless collaborations, hiatuses, changes of style makes him truly quite unique persona.
His new album comes after a little break which I guess is important in life of any artist to re-evaluate his goals and come up with new set up.
We get 10 tracks made on modular synth, acoustic guitar and percussion. Tracks that oscillate between minimalistic improvisations, aburdist compositions and modular synthesis as one of the main actors in this play.
Ten tracks of quite frankly meaningful and open to interpretation, titles that bear both a hint of sociological and philosophical existentialism  and critique that can be both subtle and funny.
Sometimes monotonous and quirky in very intimate and individualistic style, quite often sarcastic and evocative with nostalgic acoustic themes gives you an idea that Bartek's work cannot be easily classified but throughly enjoyed if you open your sensory door.
