Another massive release - a two cd edition of Jarl from Zoharum brings the best what you can get in the file of cinematic, dark ambient. 

A two cds full of a truly hypnagogic, isolationist ambient. Whimsickal amd magickal at the same time it goes deep into the cellular level of the sound design ripping it off in a dense style of textures and themes that are drawn to presenting themselves as something both deconstructed and moody. It's visceral and touching at the same time.

Most importantly it brought me to ask myself once again after long time to re-define and rephrase the term "hypnagogic" as it might be way too overused. 

Hypnagogy in the Jarl environment definitely means something of a sound art poetry but done without academic clichee but rather with genuine attitude of conveying that feeling of desolate spaces tranferred to the unpredictable electronica. 

It's definitely worth redefining it for yourself
