R. IWANSKI - Transformations I by X-NAVI:ET

The newest album by X-NAVI:ET a.k.a Rafał Iwański is an musical expression of a mature artist. Quite unusually long for the demands of low-attention span that modern listeners have is a good challenge. It helped me to understand one very crucial aspect of his work but also contemporary music in general. And it is namely: how to put your ideas as an inception concept into someone's mind through the language of music. To put it more bluntly and simplistically - how can you feel more and deeper through music that has both psychoactive and intellectually-driven properties that take you far beyond the academia and far beyond the triviality of the underground music.
9 tracks on this album are a subtle study on electroacoustic properties of non-European or rather non-western musical instruments put into a frame of a post-industrial music context.
That is music poetry but when you take away all the world music triviality and add more crudeness to it - it is a study done with confidentiality of someone who found a different context of ethnic music, decades ago and now only adding up to his own experience, towards his own maturity and knowledge of both studio techniques and mastering the instruments.
