Objets enchâssés dans un anneau planétaire by Accident Fantôme

Accident Fantôme is about to release a new album with moli del tro records based in Brussels, Belgium and it is something to really ponder on.

Sometimes with the compositions it is all about the personalities of the musicians involved, with their backgrounds and their approaches and the ideas they have carried on towards creating certain tracks. Sometimes it’s about the strategies that work. And sometimes it’s about something that carries an enormous importance which is the place where the material is being recorded.

In terms of Accident Fantôme it is a mixture of all those components. Early 2025 they had a collective session of jamming together in the Meuse region, in the village that is there. The church that they used, has a restored 18th century pipe organ. The conditions and the environment just perfect for such a recording amplified even more what they have achieved.

Out of the six hours of recordings they chose and edited the parts that lay the foundations of this album.

A minimalistic ritual full of both harmony and dissonance, beautifully edited and mastered elevates your feelings to a sublime level. With deep listening and attentive attitude this choral can take you places….

Accident Fantôme is the meeting point between the groups Accident du Travail and Fantôme Josepha. Julie (ondes Martenot), Josepha (harp), Arnaud (12-string guitar) and Olivier (keyboards, organ, effects) gathered in a village in the Meuse region in early 2025 for a week of collective creation.

The recording took place in a church housing a restored 18th-century pipe organ. The silence of the hamlet and the site’s distinctive reverberation—both luminous and deep—made it possible to capture six hours of meditative, occasionally dissonant music, unfolding over extended durations.

Tarkovsky in the land of the trenches.

The music evokes something cosmic buried beneath the woods, within this geological landscape shaped by fossilized sponges, where the ghosts of the First World War are never far away.

A form of mysticism without religion, made of accidents, breath, and life.

Josepha’s harp intertwines with the ondes Martenot and keyboards of Accident du Travail, while Arnaud’s 12-string guitar establishes a ghostly pulse.

Improvised drones and contemplative melodic lines alternate with a striking sense of simplicity.

The result takes the form of a long, immersive journey - fragile, deeply human, and handcrafted in its making - at the crossroads of ambient, drone, gothic, and more cinematic forms.
