BOLEK I LOLEK: Na Dzikim Zachodzie/Skutki Uboczne (Live)
Two friends Jacek Chmiel and Jakub Miarczyństi teamed up while studying at Musik_Academie in Basel to record their live set. A derivative of improvised music - Bolek i Lolek (name of the famous cartoon made in Poland during communism period) is a journey into the visceral guts of objects and toys which both of them use as well as electronics, amplified percussion, zither and singing bowls.
It's quite an adventure and could easily be used as a soundtrack for a movie.
Techniques of electro-acoustic improvisation but also an echo of plunderphonics and just great sense of humour and wit that both of the musicians excel makes it a pleasurable experience.
If you feel like listening to something really fresh and experimental with some depth to it - it is definitely for you.
