Time Was Away 1992-1997 by Cathedra
Mark Crumby's career has been spanning for 30 years now. Cathedra was one of his projects which include antechamber, Codex Empire. He was also involved in Konstruktivists, Oppenheimer MKII, and mitra mitra.
His early project Cathedra was released by Obuh records, Jara discs, MuzaMuza and Ant-Zen between 1992 and 1997.
A little gem is coming back now as a double cd release - released by Zoharum.
It's definitely a nostalgia trip into the depths of the archive broken into two cds - one of more experimental and tribal post-industrial with ambient touch and the second one of more classical ambient provenance. Luckily this trip is not so much obscured by mere appreciation of what happened to Mark's work. It still has that touch of intimate mystery, obviously you could complain about the production but first and foremost - this compilation of collected works is a testament on how much you could achieve using simple techniques to create minimalistic, yet rich textures, nuanced hues of the laced sonical tapestries.
It's an invitation to remember the old dream that many of us can re-live and experience in full broadth and length.
