Acclimate V.1 + .Com Live Sessions '96-'98 The B Sides
Acclimate brings back the memories of an old collaborative work from the live sessions between 1996 and 1998.
Artemis Kowalski, a New Zealander who stands behind Acclimate and Samboy label creates an amalgam of distinctive sound, heavy rhythmical basis where the influnces of dark ambient, minimal music and post-industrial blend ingeniously with glitch, post-techno, and other elements that you can define yourself.
The album brought back to light on his label is the collaborative work between himself and Phillip B. Klingler, another giant of hometaping underground. While being active in live shows, both of them improvised during variety of sessions.
A dub/funk influenced experimental drone ambient noise, harsh and mixed with spoken word, although being entirely improvised showcases the maturity of both artists.
And unlike many of the materials from the 1990's - the whole album doesn't sound dated at all. It's fresh through its agressive quality, a distinctive textures.
And also a flash of melancholy.
A testimony to raw, unobstructed creativity.
