Avelino Saavedra is coming back to the grid with his new work entitled "DRM"
Seven tracks of resonance, ambience, drama and friction where he presents his ingenuine skills with the drum set he is operating on this interesting release.
The wide array of techniques he has developed himself through the hard way of trial and error and through quite intimate interaction with the instrument is astounding. Avelino is a quality in his own field. And apart from the fact that you could probably easily put him in the file of free improvised music, I would add - it's freely improvisational music where the artist actually delegates his own spirit, intellect and imagination to create a vision of creative freedom. With highly spectacular and nuanced interaction between him and his tools, Saavedra goes beyond any classification towards the unknown territories where sonorous doom and gloom turns into quite a pathos but then you have dynamic and agressive moments where the waterfall of sounds leaves you with questions to ask later when you listen to it again.
