SAMBAR "PIERWOTNIAK PANTOFELEK"

 

An improvistational composition of Sambar is a clash and crash of two saxophone instrumentalists Paulina Owczarek and Tomasz Gadecki both playing baritone saxes.

Released as a cd by Antenna Non Grata comes as an outlet of synergies and translations in a form of 5 tracks. It is both a surprise and something familiar if you consider the background of both musicians. Free improv with almost laboratorial, scientifical approach towards the microscopic world of sounds you can produce with one instruments that turns into plethora of landscapes. Here and there you can find different redundancies of academic approach where both Paulina and Tomasz are leading their themes very intuitively, but if you look closer and listen again - you must instantly see how much skilled both of them are and how little they leave to pure chance, mastering the instruments immensely.

There is both wildness and static power of quietness here, an equilibrium of these two elements as part of a larger equation that both of them are part of.
