Szpety

Antenna Non Grata is a small label based in Poland releasing Dls, cassettes and cds of experimental variety. They have already made their own name putting out a plethora of interesting artists that every niche label would be proud of.
Szpety is one of them. A trio of Antonina Nowacka, Gosia Zagajewska and  Wojtek Kurek brings the flavour of minimalism, ars cameralis, drums, electronic and vocal experiments all put into one unit.
A trio of experienced musicians whose cd release with Antenna proves one very important issue which is working with the sound acoustics of the recording space.
Right from the first track titled "rzur" you can easily recognise how the spatial awareness is treated as a fourth instrument, a partner in this micro-voyage.
Frenetic quality of the female voices edges the grotesque and backed up by sparse yet very moving music of drums and electronics combination gives a character to this quite intimate area of music where you cannot really tell the difference which movement or which part belongs to which musician. It definitely helps to find out how each part is equally balanced in this musical ritual.
