Tonic Train "Continuous Interruptions"

Another quality release of Antenna Non Grata, Polish label promoting interesting artists of experimental file.
A duo of Sarah and Knut explores different frequencies of radio waves, circuit- bent electronics and other devices that are rather beyond the musicality element but help to dwelve deeper into the nature of the sound such as a bat detector which Sarah uses.
There are eight tracks on this finely designed cd, all of them are nuanced study of minimalistic approach towards getting the most out of very wide palette of sounds. The idiosyncrasy as hailed here is what gives the ultimate shape to the musical output, a meditative drone work, a sound design that has both feedback and glitchy bits to them.
You can listen to this cd using different approach - an insightful and reflective research of sound surrounding us, or on the other hand - a partisan guerilla of DIY drone noise that is made somewhat naturally without the burden of over-intellectualistic approach. In both cases it is a pleasure to dip into the micro-world of squelches and noises.

Sarah Washington: homemade circuit-bent electronics & bat detector

Knut Aufermann: mixing desk, effects, microphones & FM radio feedback
