Gölgelerine by Tuğçe Şenoğul
Tuğçe Şenoğul is a new discovery in ever evolving Turkish music scene. A dreamy dark diva (we had so many divas in Turkish landscape of bi-polar frenetism) who has great instinct to create evocative and highly pompous leads to her nostalgic and misty voice.
Tuğçe's voice is a neo-noir scenario, an existentialism in action, something that you might put in any other context when expecting certain sense of dramatism, the flex of theatricality ond profused zeppelin of the emotions.
Her music blends both ethnic fell to it as well as electro pop in a fresh way belnding together.
There is a sense of darkness to it and poetically it is super naive and quite a show off. There are means to convey it in a very professional way - bits of synthedelia, bits of twangy guitar, bits of good old 4AD or in general dark new wave feel to it.
She is a crafts person - she knows the odds of being one and delivers as much as possible but where will the future lead her to? That will definitely be a very interesting.
