Another great release in a series of great swing by Mik.Musik.!.
Daniel known also as Czarny Latawiec (Black Kite) is a busy bee in a field of sound art, field recording, radio art and interesting conceptual events.
Mik released his latest, almos 30 minute piece which is based on field recordings as a response to an invitation by Marcin Dymiter (Mapa, Mordy, Ewa Braun, solo) and Marcin Barski (Mathka, Audiotong) to participate in Polish Soundscapes at Wro Art Center.
A block of firm electronic sound collage - chirping and sizzling with self-guiding torch light and magnifying glass of a sculptor's precision - sharp as needle and difficult to categorize. Sound art seems like an oversimplification in a world where conscious act of listening makes an impossible and plausible push to shift and twist decisions. But Latawiec is an experienced artist and both the timing and intuition to combine movements, turns and using the source sounds is both steady hand path and very sobber thinking. As ever - a very refreshing voice in its own field.
