All in Forms by Die Perspektive
Piotr Komosiński - a man behind Die Perspektive project has been active on the revolving platform of independent music for about 25 years. Toured with renowned Potty Umbrella, recorded "Weird Polonia" with Toruń's Hotel Kosmos and for a time was a bass player in legendary Variete - a band from Bydgoszcz whose career spanned for almost 4 decades.
With a little bit of help from his friends - Alena, Artur Majewski, Darek Domanowski, Tomasz Krzemiński, Sławomir Szudrowicz, Michał Mike a new album is coming in a wholesome, well-rounded bit.
Piotr's voice instrument is bass guitar but "All in forms" doesn't necessarily bears the imprint of an album made by a side-kick musician, trying to invigorate his idea through a project of an unaccomplished individual which often happens.
It's a full-blown musical quest presented in a form of soundtrack where ambience is filled with deep down tempo beats, improvisational solo parts of diversity of instruments. Evocative and illustrous.
And also difficult to classify. There is a bit of trip hop here and there, free jazz, a spirit of dub that surrounds it all, ambient music but not in its classical form but rather as an idiom of creating an ambience of sounds. There is softness of field recorded sounds and acoustic guitar. There's idm glitch feel to the electronica. I could plod along and don't stop in it.
What's more important and truly unique here is that Piotr has a sure shot strategy in everything he does. There are no unnecessary sounds here. Everything is liquified out of midnight oil steam's hours of hard work and precision of clearly elicited themes he takes on.
A truly fine work of sound design and creation of soundtrack sensitivity taken a bit further.
