Jacek Wanat - Bandoff - "Essais" and "the elements"

Bandoff bandcamp
Jacek Wanat from Konin, Poland is probably one of those unnapreciated and underrated geniuses that dwelved deep and drank from the roots of the underground European and international experimental music and saturated, metabolised alchemically those influences into his own private museum of oddities, curiosities, private sermons, resolutions, clusters and confessions.
Blimp, Chore IA, Choremy were the projects he participated. Known from the Obuh records releases on cassettes they brought highly individual artistic expression which was difficult to condense in certain genre or a link to something as it posed a genre of itself. You could feel RIO, phantasms of experimental krautrock, deviating singer/songwriter ethos, improvisation, done on his own terms and all that sealed with curious type of existentialism unlike anywhere else.
After a long term hiatus he is returning with two new materials which set up a different tone to his pursuit.
"Essais" and "the elements" bring the best out of deeply improvisational songs into the world of the music that doesn't necessarily exist these days. The only link in terms of equivocal engagement in blending different elements of song(yes!) structure, an ambigous etheric ambience but still a very clear narrative brings Bardoseneticcube from Russia but take it only as a vague reference.
Jacek's music has something to do with the modern classical catacomb music like Cro Magnon, Zeuhl  or Tuxedomoon. Has a filigree, subtlety about it but all covered in ash, mist and a shroud of dark clouds.
These tracks definitely need more than just a bandcamp release. It's more like a literature for your ears.
