13th Mountain by Buck Curran & Adele H

 

13th Mountain is a digital single as it would be called - a single song with an alternate version.

In many ways as it is, for the reasons of being easier to find, it is tagged with psychedelic folk, folk labels among a few more.

This is a little bit more in the actual reality as Buck Curran and his partner Adele H elevate the modal of those genres quite high. A seemingly simple song that has a lot more to offer in terms of phrasing and the whole acutely precise guitar work in terms of closing the whole theme in one track - Buck's work here is highly exceptional. The other, mirroring in equal level of mastery is Adele's vocal. Perfectly pitched and soaked in bittersweet melancholic chutney of something deeper. Nothing overdone and nothing too short of perfect blend.

Once again it shows how great those artists are on many different levels - how much magic you can conjure by seeing through the cliches of the genres and being able to wrap up something this wonderful.
