Strinning / Chmiel: Kwana by Antenna Non Grata

Antenna Non Grata has been a steady provider and a publisher of pretty musical gems - in all sorts of genres, sub-genres, and musical idioms that are revolving around modern experimental, improvised, composed music but also lots of leftfield, out there releases that clearly divert from easy classification which adds up to the quality and a high level of them in terms of musicality and maturity of the materials.

This little cassette is a document of musical meeting of Sebastian Strinning and Jacek Chmiel who operate different instruments.

A little thing of wonder and interesting, nuanced composition and deep listening. two pieces which they have recorded in Luzern.

Their musical maturity and flexibility in how they operate and listen together is rather astounding. There is a bit of improvisation related either, more or less to free jazz and modern composition as well as electroacoustic musings which add up to the narrative - dense at times, dramatic and nuanced.

Sebastian Strinning – saxophone, contrabass clarinet

Jacek Chmiel – electronics, field recordings, singing bowls, zither
