WAVE555: III by Antenna Non Grata

WAVE555 is Adam Kaliszewski and Kacper Krzemiński and their new DL album is out now on Antenna Non Grata label.

In the vast array of ambient there has been a stupendous amount of different albums and the artists that made them who normally use different techniques - either electroacoustic, electronic or anything else that automatically puts them in a specific drawer, shelf, under specific label.

WAVE555 is a little bit different as for the life of me - it talks through the hypnagogic quality rather than straight musicality which, jokes aside is stunning.

Just like the previous albums - it is a live set. Intricate, set in separate tracks as classical approach - movements. Full of grace, elegance and melancholy but with no cheap tricks. Somewhat profound experience and no-nonsense.

The third album by WAVE555 – the project consisting of Adam Kaliszewski and Kacper Krzemiński – was, just like the previous two materials, recorded live. This time, however, not in the musicians' studio, but at the Forum Synagoga in Ostrów Wielkopolski during the 16th edition of the Temple of Silence festival. WAVE555 was responsible for the sound design for the second day of the festival, resulting in the performance and recording of five movements – each with a different character, inspired by the unique interior of the old synagogue and the atmosphere of other artists' performances. It is, therefore, a play with the space, the audience, and the sound presented that evening on the festival stage. At the same time, the musicians did not deviate from their preferred convention of improvised drones, played using their DIY synthesizers, various reverb and destructive effects, as well as electric guitar: with slide, ebow, and prepared. The material underwent only basic processing and mixing; no additional editing or overdubbing was performed.
