Hamid Drake and Mako Sica "Ronda"

Hamid Drake is one of the most jazz renowned drummer and percussionist that worked with the likes of Don Cherry, Peter Brotzman, Lee "Scratch" Perry and many others.
"Ronda" is a beautiful album he recorded with Mako Sica from Chicago.
Mako Sica's free rock blend of experimentation with post-rock/post hard core sensitivity opened new gates for expression for both artists.
It's difficult to have any expectations when such different worlds collide to burst out with sparks of pure joy.
Dance with waves, an opening track is an invocation, soliloquy with rich percussive part, surf guitar, uplifting vocals and beautiful keys.
It doesn't get any worse in 4 other tracks who have beautiful lightness about them.
There is evocative quality about this music and maestry of all instrumental parts. Crosses the boundaries between free rock, psychodelia, jazz, improvisation and anything else.
Great gem!
