Eggs from a Varnished Chest by Candlesnuffer

Candlesnuffer a.k.a. David Brown is responsible for quite an astonishing body of work - he has been working solo and with such luminaries as Sean Baxter and Anthony Pateras.

Extended techniques, preparations, processing and other unorthodox approaches are the basis of his work.

His current album released by room40, an Australian label, led by Lawrence English was overseen by Myles Mumford and are mostly improvisations on tenor guitar. Using different pitches and set-ups, small utensils and working with electric current as well "Eggs..." brings a highly resonant and poignant set of tracks that are both interesting and possess dramatic narrative that many improvised albums lack.

There's a lot of experience that he brings in with his album and approach as well as certain roughness that stems from the distorted rock idiom. They are very refreshing and help to embrace it.
