Deception Island by NNHMN

 

Newest album of NNHMN released by Zoharum is a compilation of tracks ( in slightly re-arranged  order) from two different eps "Deception Island part 1" and Deception Island part 2" released by a Spanish label  Oráculo Records.

A duo of Lee and Michal Laudarg embellishes their trademark sound of dark disco with influences of new wave, EBM, dark wave and new romantic synth pop into a sophisticated mysteria of  melancholic and even slightly erotic atmosphere into something both entertaining, good for an equivalent of dark lounge music with ambition to reach a bit higher level of artistry. It's a special sort of design for an entertainment, uncanny, in their own terms - quite poetic and an open outlet for interpretation and interesting - stylistically and formally.

NNHMN is in its own domain and within this genre it's quite difficult to stay true to yourself and not dip into triviality - but they have somehow made it and managed to push their own boundaries to feel as if nothing can be taken for granted and yet materialized in this form.
