DMNSZ "NOCTURNAL ANIMALS" released by Antenna Non Grata
Once in a blue moon you come across a demure sort of noise poetry amidst the sea of experimental projects that may or may not appeal to you, but this very one just hits the right chords. So is with DMNSZ and the newest release of this project by Antenna Non Grata.
On the surface it seems like there is a lot to be thanked to the post-industrial and post-techno world of sound processing and the amount of the powerful sonic blast that this project represents. But there is more to it when you actually dig deeper.
Harsh aspect of the sound poetry and sound design in general is somewhat visible right from the start. The crude arrangements of the minimalistic and pointilistic tracks build up the language that you might have a problem comprehending at once but it definitely gets to the core of the sound exploration as you go track by track.
There is nothing here that is overdone - it is visceral and sizzling. Drones made up of feedbacks and a silent agreement to what's noisy about set ups that are built through just simple inventions. It definitely puts in perspective a high end explorations of modular synthetists.
