Deep Fields by VOICES OF THE COSMOS
Voices of the Cosmos are made up of Rafał Iwański (working and founding member of HATI, KAPITAL and Innercity Ensemble, ALAMEDA 5, as well as solo - X-NAVI:ET) and Wojciech Zięba (Beast Of Prey, solo performing as ELECTRIC URANUS, ) and astronomer Sebastian Soberski, manager of the Planetarium and Astronomical Observatory in Grudziadz and radio astronomer at the Institute of Astronomy at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Piwnice near Torun.
The flagship project focused on sounds related to astronomy has released their newest body of work which coincides with 500 year anniversary of Nicolas Copernicus who was born in their hometown of Toruń. They have presented their music outside of the independent and experimental music niche which works only to the benefit and great reception of the value they represent.
Voices of the Cosmos is somewhat of a hybrid between dark and space ambient with synthadelia that has a firm root into the space exploration as main theme.
It has a very smooth surface but it never avoids the rough edges and glitches that only make it more interesting. Devoid of any unnecessary modulations and pathos - it can pose a challenge to a listener who is not experienced in the field of experimental music but only in a very superficial way. It is both embracing and filling up the hollow gaps very easily with a tonal and mysterious ways of arranging and releasing tension and drama.
