SmoGGG plays XenocydR

Out of the depths of Cracow, Poland underground there comes a project that has been keeping mighty busy. And although they haven't had a major release as such ( maybe for the better because I would love seeing them releasing something in a form of multi-formatted special edition) they are coming with an elongated ep.
The album is a tribute to two highly skilled, influential drummers - Jędrek Pawłowski and Tomek Chołoniewski who sadly passed away at young age.
As the project professes itself in setting their own genre - swampcore - it is difficult to place them under any label. What we get is a psychodelic and highly psychoactive mix of surreal and eerie soundscape set with traditional instruments. Imagine The Birthday Party gone post-rock but in a more weird frequencies and toned down dynamics. This album is actually a reworking of  an earlier incarnation of Tomasz Jerzy's project XenocydR.
we have highly skilled musicians here who are both eloquent and know their stuff well, and despite quite long tracks - there is no boredom or anything that would deter you from enjoying this.
It is one of those projects that I suspect to evolve and suddenly flood us with some seriously captivating albums. Way to go, gents!
