Om Kult Ritual Practice of Conscious Dying - Vol. III by Rudolf Eb.Er
Rudolf is a legend of a man. Started with Schimpfluch group and under Runzelstirn&Gurgelstock he brought to life techniques of Burroughsesque cut-ups and dadaistic sound collages with post-industrial/noise bruitism edge.
The theme of death and passing away consciously is crucial in tantric buddhism and hinduism as well as shamanic practices. Rudolf reflecting upon those uses variety of means to bring it into sonic sphere. The field recordings of forests in Japan, haystacks, maggots and other insects, fire(?), water, animals or animalistically processed voices help to convey the cinema verite of the death process - decomposition, sinister silence which contains actually grains of sounds so tiny that you might think it's just earbuds ringing tintinnus.
Rudolf in his own respect is a painter. A minimalist you should say or you might think but the density of those sound collages is so ardous and stodgy that you might feel experiencing something tougher and molecular in nature than just plain conceptual sound art design.
There is also something more to it, not sinister and grim but very objective - something that somehow(forgive me the vagueness) elevates the former bruitism of his works to a deeper level of objective analysis and a deep plunge into the actual experience. Something that is super rare in this field and might be only related to some movies that touch you on different levels.
Rudlf Eb.Er is a craftsman but also with the intuitive strategy of his work - an alchemist.
This is music for yoga but the one that stays away from sweat drenched gyms reeking of consumerism and shallowness.
