Jonny Martin has a long and rich musical career - somewhat not so well documented in my humble opinion. Proving a very versatile since he touched base with many different musical areas, he has dedicated a lot of time and energy towards improvised experimental path. He is very active in that field which is even more emphasized by the fact that his primary location is London, UK.

His new album has been released in April by the Canadian label Fragments of Blue from Vancouver in B.C.

Two long, just over 20 minutes each tracks have an imprint of psychogeographical semblance of Joycean urban drift. With a brass improvisation, processed field recordings it gives you a shot of straight city hysteria where a nuanced picture procured from bits of sonic voyage can become your own.

Far from sterile jazz vapours, tweaked by a slight touch of electronics and skillful deconstruction, it is a nice introduction to his little microcosm.
