EK002: Scale and Scope by Stefan Goldmann

 

Format these days is a much omitted topic in terms of music as the digitalisation of music media is the standard now. Any artists that endeavours to put his body of work out as an actual physical media is putting on a brave action that should be celebrated and welcomed.

Stefan Goldman did that with his four flexi disc release ''Scale and Scope'' put out beautifully as  a collection of four tracks.

Obviously there is more his and hum as flexi discs are noisier than vinyl records but it adds up to the pleasure of this listening. Is this still an ep? Is this a fully fledged album?

Four minimalistic tracks, based on microtonal scale experimentation - repetitive and on the verge of noise intrusion but never going beyond.  They have their own motoric value that only adds up to things.

A really pleasant short listening material.
