The Seven Sacraments by The Orphanage Committee

Orphanage Comitee strikes back with a an interesting concept. Orphan S.C. Wallace who is the man behind this moniker presents an album that some may mistake it for some religious hagiographic music.
But fret not....Apart from the appearances he makes his presence less of a dogma, but rather a person of ever changing sound art and compositional direction.
The sounds of the organ that are extensively used on this album is one thing that draws inspirations from religious music. But ''religious'' - how and in what sense? Definitely not a direct one. The atmosphere in both tracks is definitely contemplative and pompous but only to a certain degree. There is a lost of synthesis here, distant field recording but foremostly a lot of space that lots of ambient records lack but Orphan manage to amplify it through completely different means of musical transport.
It reminds me a little bit of a long forgotten project from UK, called Cathedra.
To devise spiritual music without crossing the boundaries and overusing the idioms of such genre is quite an art. Thank you Erik for your patience and releasing this great material.
